Stauffer Glove and Safety, a PPE distributor that carries a broad range of safety equipment, including hand and foot protection, as well as hearing, sight and respiratory gear, needed a digital transformation, including a fresh website design. They had two websites (one homegrown and another with moderate functionality) for two very different customer types, and wanted a single experience across them. It was an imperative to maintain customer-specific product catalogs with their very diverse regulations. As leaders, they wanted to optimize compliance as well as b2b ecommerce customer experiences.

The Solution

The Insite (now Optimizely) B2B Commerce platform was a natural fit for Stauffer Glove and Safety, not only because of its many out-of-the-box (OOTB) features, like customized catalogs, but also because of its customization capabilities. Stauffer had an extensive list of integrations for its new website, and Xngage helped to customize the B2B ecommerce platform and implement a plan to better enable API technology. This positioned the Stauffer B2B ecommerce solution well, not only for the major upgrade, but also for any incremental changes as the business evolved.

The Result

Stauffer was able to meet the demands of its diverse customer base - from OSHA safety managers to industrial procurement buyers. The ability to have a single experience across customer types helped to reduce the inefficiencies of the buying experience. Customers found the user experience intuitive and easy to use, and especially liked knowing that their standards for doing business were well-maintained, and also enhanced. As time has evolved, the new overall technology environment has yielded quicker and less expensive upgrades adding to better IT expense management. A win for all!
